Lipomas are benign soft tissue tumors that grow within the subcutaneous layer of the skin. Rarely, do lipomas resolve on their own, even with deep tissue massge. On rare occasion, a lipoma may outgrow its blood supply and atrophy. Treatment of lipomas is purely surgical, with complete removal of the lipoma being the goal.
